A webinar on domestic violence was held

A webinar was held on December 14 at 11:00 am, part of the project “Prevention of Domestic Violence and Harmful Traditional Practices in the Roma Community”, funded by the public board of TELUS INTERNATIONAL in Bulgaria and implemented by Center “Amalipe”.
The special guests of the meeting were Teodora Krumova – Program Director of Center “Amalipe”, Rositsa Dimitrova – Director of the Directorate “Social Activities and Health” Veliko Tarnovo and Rada Elenkova – Program Director of the “Bulgarian Fund for Women”.
The participants were 40 people. The meeting passed with great interest and active discussion.

Rada Elenkova presented the work of the Bulgarian Fund for Women and their initiative “Eternal Bulgarian Hits”. Under the title “Change the plate”, they call for the statistics and measures that we have been talking about for years to start changing. See more here.
Rositsa Dimitrova presented the active work of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo in terms of social services for victims of violence. She told how and where they could find support and shelter.
Participants deepened the conversation in an active discussion with the panelists, and some even shared their personal experiences with domestic violence. We all agreed that this problem should be talked about more and more and stopped being considered a normal phenomenon.
At the next webinar on the project, which will be held on December 21 from 11:00. until 13:00 Dilyana Giteva – lawyer and national coordinator of the JUSTROM program in Bulgaria and Boyan Bartolov – from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Veliko Tarnovo will visit us. They will tell you what legal steps a victim must take to save themselves from their abuser.
The meetings are held online through the online meeting platform ZOOM and are free for access to all who wish to participate.
