From a dream to a goal close to the heart

Heading “Shared by the Regional Coordinator”

Today the regional pedagogical coordinator for the districts of Varna, Dobrich, Silistra and Burgas Zhanna Vassileva will introduce you to the story of a girl, the story of the road from dream to reality.

Days after April 8 – International Roma Day, I want to tell you about a girl who is not ashamed to say that she is Roma. Because she is only 16, and her achievements are so great that her identity has never been determined by her ethnicity. Her life is full of so many moments of happiness, competitions, horses, learning and friends, both Bulgarians and Roma. She is Ipek Luman.

A beautiful girl from a small village from a small school. The Folklore group of the ethnic groups, where Ipek danced and took part in concerts. Our first meeting was like that. Then came the Open Heart Festival. Emotions, joy in the eyes, the pride of the director Mrs. Temenuzhka Nikolova for her girls, diploma, photos. Everyone liked them on stage with the Tsumaile dance. But this is Ipek’s second hobby. Her real passion is horses. There is a professional horse base in the village of Smolnitsa and little Ipek went there every day since she was in 1st grade and stayed for hours watching the horses. Maybe she felt that they would become a part of life forever. When she was in 3rd grade, the coach suggested that Ipek’s parents train her, so Ipek started riding a horse and riding.

How is her sports career developing now?

Many competitions at local and national level and many – many prizes. And all the prizes! In Pleven at a national competition of over 100 participants, Ipek is in 5th place. This sport also determined the choice of Ipek’s future profession. She is currently studying at the veterinary college in Dobrich. He will continue his education at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Thracian University in Stara Zagora. One day Ipek will become a veterinarian, he will treat animals, but his greatest passion will always be horses, Ipek said.

Does it matter what you spend your time with as a child? In aimless digging in the phone in tic talk, instagram, facebook, selfies and just doing nothing, or are you developing your potential? And this golden berry – skill, talent – has potential in each of us – we just have to find it, follow it and give it the opportunity to develop. Ipek is very happy when we give her the opportunity to tell about herself and motivate her peers. Now she is an example for the other students at the school in the village of Smolnitsa, for her little sister, whom she helps and for all the children who know her.

If dreams are predetermined by what is close to our hearts, then we will certainly become successful and happy.
