The information campaign “Voice for You: Don’t Sell It!” has been launched
The Amalipe Center is an organization that has been working for over 20 years to develop the Roma community, promote active civic participation, and foster effective partnerships with institutions at the local, regional, and national levels. Part of the organization’s activities includes working to overcome negative practices within the community. In light of the upcoming elections, one such practice that the Roma community is not immune to is the buying and selling of votes.
The Amalipe Center has launched the campaign “Voice for you: Don’t sell it!” It will be conducted nationwide, reaching groups that show the least interest in the electoral process, especially in the European Parliament elections—youth from small settlements, rural areas, vulnerable groups (such as Roma, etc.), and those most susceptible to such negative practices. The campaign aims to encourage voter turnout and counteract the buying and selling of votes.
The goals of the campaign are:
- To inform about the powers of the European Parliament and European institutions;
- To motivate participation in the elections for the European and National Parliament;
- To counteract the selling of votes and encourage the cessation of this negative practice.
The campaign is not affiliated with any political party.
Within the campaign, only the dissemination of information materials related to the upcoming European elections, the benefits of membership in the European Union, as well as those aimed at more awareness and conscious choice, especially among young people who will vote for the first time, is planned.
Any attempts to campaign for a particular political force are NOT PART OF THE CAMPAIGN.
If you are over 18 years old, you can also join the campaign!
Let’s raise awareness and motivation to participate in the European and National Parliament elections together! Let’s together stop the practice of buying and selling votes – they are crimes!
This campaign is part of the “EMPOWEREU: Encouraging the participation of youth and vulnerable groups in the European Parliament elections” project, which is implemented with the support of the European Parliament. The project aims to increase the awareness of young Bulgarian citizens (with an emphasis on the Roma) about the role and democratic values of the EU, as well as to make them active participants in this process.
However, the views and opinions expressed are entirely those of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the European Union or the European Parliament. Neither the European Union nor the European Parliament is responsible for them.
