The European project “DREAM – A Participatory Approach in the Education Environment to Overcome Discrimination of young Roma on new media” is funded by Erasmus+ KA2 program.

The partnership involves:

DREAM project consists of:

A need and contexts analysis, to identify the principal stereotypes and discrimination processes – widespread among young people – about/against Roma;

A toolkit constructed together with parents, teachers, students, to tackle discrimination against Roma community in the school environment;

A communication campaign to disseminate the results of the project and produce awareness on processes and phenomena which are sadly current.

Objectives

Contribute to fight against discrimination of Roma people.

Fighting against stereotypes against Roma, women in particular, circulated in digital media by youth. The project involves pupils of ages 11-13, teachers, schools, parents, Roma associations. The beneficiaries will work for: identification and analysis of stereotypes used in digital media communication for discrimination of Roma, with a gender approach; set-up of a laboratories and tool-kit for schools and associations, providing activities and tools for fighting against discrimination of Roma; carry out of the laboratories at school; dissemination.

Duration: 36 months (1 September 2019 – 31 August 2022)
