The project will be implemented at the national level in at least 50 municipalities and will be aimed at 2 target groups:

  • young people (including girls), most of them from vulnerable groups, who will be voting for the first time;
  • Roma (and other vulnerable groups), who generally have a low voter turnout in European elections and do not exercise an informed vote.

Project goals:

  • to increase the awareness of young Bulgarian citizens (with an emphasis on the Roma) about the role and democratic values of the EU;
  • to make them active participants in this process;
  • to create a sense of community;
  • to encourage participation in the together.eu community;
  • to increase nonpartisan civic engagement;
  • to create practices for civil control over MEPs and other institutions.

The project will develop a wide range of activities:

  • youth information campaigns (including “peer training” presentations, university meetings, youth forums);
  • regional meetings with educational mediators and representatives of local communities from vulnerable groups;
  • information campaign and development of online and offline products, mobile/travel podcasts/debates;
  • holding a debate with MEP candidates from major political forces.

The project will directly reach 2,100 young people, over 1,000 mediators, parents and other vulnerable groups, and indirectly – up to 200,000 citizens.
