Secondary school “St. Paisii Hilendarski ”in the town of Varbitsa joined the campaign“ Let’s turn every day into March 8”
On March 14, 2022 Secondary school “St. Paisii Hilendarski ” in the town of Varbitsa organized and presented together with the students the campaign“ Let’s turn every day into March 8 ”. At the meeting, the participants shared different opinions, and part of the program was the presentation of a video of Amalipe – “Two Roma Worlds”.
The participants discussed the following topics:
- What does education give us? How to continue our education?;
- Students: Knowledge, skills and attitudes that help learners achieve personal fulfillment and, later in life, find work and participate in society. Ensure successful performance and social well-being of people by improving the quality of life, reduce the risk of social exclusion.
The educational mediator at the school shared: Each of us makes his choices! Get to know yourself on the weak and strong weak and strong qualities! Remember that every little step you choose leads you to an important dream! Keep going to education! Plan the successes you look forward to!
What did the students share?
- “Like all people, I have big dreams for the future. To be educated, to make a lot of friends with people with different interests, with whom we can work together in some period of time – to start my own business “;
- “I learn from everything, but it is not enough for me to live the way I want. That’s why I need friends, colleagues, family… It is important to meet new and different people, to communicate with them, to exchange experiences, because it is not known when I will need them or they need me ”;
- “Any professional career requires courage. Courage to start doing what you want ”;
- “Nothing is accidental in this life. Every opportunity or loss gives rise to other events with an unexpected end, but it is always for our good to become stronger and braver for the new struggles in which our dreams will put us ”;
The topic “What makes us women?” was also discussed at the meeting. What did the participants share?
- The educational mediator shared that women and girls continue to be frequently subjected to violence and harassment, discrimination and serious obstacles in areas such as the labor market, pay, education, health, politics and management;
- EU action on gender equality is integrated into various policy areas and aims to ensure equal rights.
In the field of education, gender inequalities still exist, for example with regard to preferred specialties. Women are more likely to have a higher education degree, but their numbers remain disproportionately high in disciplines related to traditional female roles, such as care, and are underrepresented in areas such as science.
Perhaps the most important thing to remember is that whatever rules we have, whatever techniques we use, whatever we think will be successful, in a given situation, with a certain type of woman, no rules are a “magic pill”. But by following a certain pattern, we can increase our chances of success.
You have to be consistent. You have to be yourself. You have to be committed to what you do. You should not be afraid to be ambitious!

RTransform is an international initiative aimed at the active inclusion of Roma women and girls in social life and the guarantee of their rights. The project focuses on promoting equal access to quality and inclusive education, training and lifelong learning for Roma women. The main idea is to create a bridge between Roma women and young girls, to build an environment of trust and continuity, which will be an opportunity for dialogue and debate between different countries.
For 18 years, our partners from Drom Kotar have been organizing the so-called “Meetings of Roma Students” (RWSG), an initiative organized with the active participation of Roma women from all over Europe to exchange experiences and ideas for successful educational integration and demonstrate role models in the community to inspire other Roma women and girls.
The aim of the initiative is to encourage active Roma women from different localities to unite other women around them, with which to create a space in which to discuss the topics described above, to create support, motivation and opportunities for development.
