A new step towards inclusive education: A network of educational mediators has been established
On September 15 – on the eve of the first day of school – the Network of Educational Mediators in Bulgaria was officially established.
The initiative, long awaited by active mediators in the country, now has its formal structure and recognition. From an informal community, the Network now acquires an official status, which allows it to work even more effectively in support of inclusive education and equal access to learning for every child.
On July 29, a General Assembly was convened, at which a Management Board, a Control Body, as well as the Chairman of the Network – Atanas Atanasov, were elected by a majority vote.
The event marks a new stage in the
development of the professional community of educational mediators – the people who build bridges between school, family and community on a daily basis.
“We are proud that we now have an official national Network. This will allow us to join forces, share experiences, protect children’s rights, and work even harder for change,” the newly elected leadership said.
The network aims to be a platform for professional development, advocacy and active communication with institutions, the media and society at large.
