“Christmas Mail of Dreams” united citizens of Veliko Tarnovo in support of education

On December 5, 2025, Marno Pole Park in Veliko Tarnovo became an island of goodness, inspiration and hope. The Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance “Amalipe”, together with volunteers from the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross – Veliko Tarnovo, implemented the initiative “Christmas Mail of Dreams” – an event that touched different generations and filled the day with kindness, warmth and mutual inspiration.

The initiative is part of the national campaign “The Christmas Miracles of Bulgaria”, which for 30 days tells true stories of courage, dedication, humanity and love for the world we live in. Amalipe CMEDT was announced as the “Christmas Miracle” on November 24, officially launching the series of events dedicated to good deeds and support for young people in Bulgaria.

Mail that brings back hope

“Christmas Mail of Dreams” gave students and college students from different regions, as well as local citizens, the opportunity to write letters to unknown young people from all over the country. In these sincere letters, they shared:

  • their dreams and personal aspirations,
  • words of support and encouragement,
  • messages of self-belief,
  • calls to continue their education,
  • ideas for a better world.

Many of the participants admitted that it was the first time they were sending a letter to someone they had never met — and this is what turned the initiative into a symbol of trust, solidarity and shared hope.

Support for the “I Want to Learn” Fund

The letters were not the only gesture of kindness during the event.

All those who wished had the opportunity to make a donation in support of the “I Want to Study” Fund – a program of “Amalipe” that provides financial assistance to current and future students in difficult situations.

The Fund is a true bridge between dreams and reality. It tells young people: “You can. And you are not alone.”

Thanks to it, dozens of young people annually get a chance:

  • to continue their education,
  • to develop professionally,
  • to broaden their horizons beyond the difficulties of everyday life.

Each scholarship recipient participates in volunteer activities according to the “Pass On” model, passing on the inspiration – to young people who need an example and support.

The #IWantToLearn campaign

The letters collected during the “Christmas Mail of Dreams” will also be part of the online campaign #IWantToLearn. The aim of the campaign is to promote education and encourage young people:

  • to stay in school,
  • to believe in their own abilities,
  • to develop their talent and potential.

In this way, we remind them that dreams have no limits when there is someone to believe in them.

The Christmas miracle that warmed everyone’s hearts

“Christmas Mail of Dreams” showed the power of kindness and mutual assistance. In a world where we often talk about difficulties, initiatives like this remind us that there are many young people who want to learn, develop and do good – and that we can help them.

CIDT “Amalipe” expresses its gratitude to all the volunteers, partners, participants and donors who turned the event into a true Christmas miracle.
