Minister Valchev will open the first STEM center in “Traiko Simeonov” High School, Shumen

The Minister of Education and Science Krassimir Valchev will open the first STEM-center at Traiko Simeonov High School in Shumen on February 26. It was created under the National Program “Building a school STEM environment”.

Traiko Simeonov High School is close to the homes and hearts of its students, because the best school is the nearest school! Applying the model of the ethnically mixed composition of the city, it gathers students from the four main ethnic groups (Bulgarians, Turks, Roma, Armenians) in the same ratio.

The school has been included in the Program “Every student will be an excellent student” at the Amalipe Center since 2015 and works towards the creation of a fair and tolerant multicultural society. The pedagogical team is not afraid of diversity, but upholds the principles of inclusion, the formation of national, moral and aesthetic values, whose work is not just a profession, but a step into the future! A team that puts the child as the center of every thought, deed and word. A team oriented to global world priorities, to the dynamically changing world, in the service of the needs of the student personality and responsible behavior towards public life.

Traiko Simeonov Secondary School is one of the few schools in Bulgaria with great success compared to desegregation. It managed to stop secondary segregation and make the school a desirable place for everyone – students, parents and teachers from different ethnic groups in the region. This happened with great and tireless efforts on the part of the management and the team, which rely on innovation and full communication; the application of intercultural elements in the learning process; working with projects and national programs. the protection of children’s rights; the involvement of parents in school life; the trust in the educational mediator; the improvement of the material base, etc.

Today, Traiko Simeonov High School is a good example of successfully dealing with secondary segregation, a good example of an intercultural school, of a successful school!
