Peer-to-peer training: find resources for the new topic “Misinformation, fake news and profile recognition”

On 8 January 2025. Amalipe Center organized another online training for young people who want to be peer educators. The event, held through the Zoom platform, was attended by a large number of students from different schools in the country, and in many places whole groups of 8-10 people, united in one profile, participated.

The training aimed to introduce the new topic prepared for this school year, namely “Disinformation, fake news recognition and profiles”, which is becoming increasingly relevant in the digital world that students are in every day. Young trainers will be able to deliver training to their peers, understanding more deeply the problem of misinformation and the importance of critical thinking.

As the first youth webinar for 2025, it began with an interactive activity where everyone could think about their plans

and goals for the year and share if they wished. During the session, participants were introduced to new resources on the topic, examples, and non-intrusive activities, and received valuable tips for peer-to-peer training. In addition, youth had the opportunity to share their thoughts and questions, and the online meeting was a lot of fun and positive energy, which energized everyone for the new challenges.

The training not only provided the participants with knowledge and skills, but also inspired them to pass on this knowledge to their peers, joining efforts to promote values such as empathy and mutual respect. The young people who will conduct trainings on this topic are encouraged to share their

impressions and photos of the activities implemented in the group “Center Amalipe – Leadership Program for Students”.

Links to resources from the training that they can use in their future trainings can be found here.
We look forward to seeing the results of this new initiative and believe it will inspire all participants to be active and engaged in upcoming campaigns!

The training was carried out within the framework of the project “Intercultural academy for civic participation and tolerance,” which is implemented with the support of the U.S. State Department through the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria.
