RADIRIGHTS – Closing conference
As we approach the conclusion of the RADIRIGHTS Project, we are thrilled to reflect on the significant achievements and milestones accomplished throughout the initiative. This closing conference which was held on 28-29.11.2024 celebrates the collective efforts of our partners, Roma mediators, and community members who contributed to combating disinformation and fostering inclusion across Europe.
The RADIRIGHTS Project has tackled disinformation impacting Roma communities by:
- Engaging Local Mediators: Training and equipping Roma mediators to act as trusted sources of information within their communities, helping to dispel harmful rumors and misinformation.
- Empowering Communities: Organizing workshops, community dialogues, and capacity-building sessions that addressed topics such as vaccine hesitancy, access to accurate information, and building resilience against false narratives.
- Developing Innovative Tools: Creating tailored methodologies and resources for identifying and combating disinformation, including the use of community filmmaking and other creative approaches to amplify Roma voices.
- Promoting Collaboration: Facilitating partnerships between local leaders, policymakers, and Roma communities to create systems that address the root causes of disinformation and ensure sustainable impact.
This two-day event highlights our journey and the shared determination to foster stronger, more informed communities. As we move forward, the lessons learned and the connections built through RADIRIGHTS will continue to guide efforts to combat disinformation and promote inclusivity.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this impactful project. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the closing conference!
