Another award for students from PGO “El. Bagryana” in the town of Byala Slatina

For another year, the “Georgi S. Rakovski” Secondary School – Kotel hosted the National Student Conference “Vasil Levski – Volcano of Humanity”, realized with the assistance of the Regional Education Department – Sliven. The theme of this year’s edition was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the death of the Apostle of Freedom – Vasil Levski, as part of the celebrations initiated by the All-Bulgarian Committee “Vasil Levski”.

Representatives from 34 educational institutions with a total of 60 projects in the “Film” and “Clip” categories took part in the student forum – individual and group participation. For its excellent performance, a special prize was awarded to the “Young Journalist” club from the “Elisaveta Bagryana” PGO – Byala Slatina” headed by Galina Yahova. The students were awarded by Prof. Dr. Plamen Mitev from Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski” and Dr. Christiana Stankova – head of the Regional Department of Education – Sliven and member of the management board of the All-Bulgarian Committee “Vasil Levski”.

The award is another distinction for the boys and girls who have a commitment to popularize through a newspaper and website what is happening in the vocational high school.

 

The “Every student will be a winner” network includes 287 educational institutions from all over the country that have united in achieving the goals of the Amalipe Center program and supported by the Trust for a Social Alternative. The goals include: dropout prevention and retention of all students in school, increasing the number of reintegrated/re-enrolled children, increasing the number of Roma adults involved in forms of lifelong learning, significantly increasing the percentage of Roma youth, who continue their education in secondary schools/high schools, active involvement of parents in school life.
