International Day of the Girl Child

In 2011, October 11 was declared International Girls’ Day – a day that recognizes their rights and the unique challenges they face. Today we are talking about girls’ rights, equality and their right to education and freedom.

This day aims to draw public attention to the problem of discrimination against women and girls in education and their professional development in science. The aim is to promote girls and women in the field of education and science, as well as recognition of their scientific achievements.

Emphasis is placed on the need to address the challenges faced by girls, as well as to promote the empowerment of girls and the enjoyment of their human rights.

If encouraged, adolescent girls have the opportunity to show and develop their potential to change the world we live in in a better and fairer place, free from discrimination and restrictions.
