STEM center – a step towards change

On March 24, 2022, the new STEM center was officially opened at the Professional high school of Agriculture, Targovishte. Guests of the event were Mrs. Elka Stancheva – Head of RWU – Targovishte, as well as experts from the Municipality of Targovishte. Professional high school of Agriculture, Targovishte has been part of the Network of Amalipe Center for years “Every student will be an excellent student”, created under the program “Every student will be an excellent student”, funded by the Trust for Social Alternative.

Elka Stancheva congratulated the management for the implementation of the project and said: “I am convinced that this new learning environment will arouse the interest of students, will meet their expectations, will help them acquire lasting professional skills and knowledge with practical orientation that are useful in their life.”

Eng. Stella Tomova – director of the high school presented the separate corners-workshops, where students will be able to create, develop their digital and technical

skills, create art and experience the educational content. The center will teach integrated lessons that will combine knowledge from different disciplines, and the lessons will be part of project-based learning through activities. The principal thanked the team who participated with their hard work for the construction of the STEM center, and Bozhidar Denev, a 12th grade student, was awarded a diploma for outstanding contribution to its construction.

 

 

 

 

 The activities of the center will be sustainable over time, as the professions in which students are trained are included in the list of STEM professions – these are the professions of the future, professions related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The opening of the STEM center became a real celebration for the students, who presented a musical greeting to their teachers and guests.
