The Amalipe Center participates in a European Commission civil society consultation group

The European Commission has set up a group to consult civil society organizations on Roma issues. The group will include Roma and pro-Roma organizations active at European level. They will advise the European Commission on key decisions related to Roma equality, inclusion and participation policies. The group will be coordinated by the DG for Justice.

Following a selection procedure, the European Commission selects 20 organizations to participate in the group. These are primarily organizations working at European level: for example, Phiren Amenca, the European Roma and Travellers Forum, ERGO Network, European Roma Rights Center, Open Society Institute, RAYN, European Public Health Association and etc. The working group also includes some of the established national Roma organizations participating in the political debate at European level – for example, FSG, Central Council of German Sinti and Roma and others.

Amalipe Center is the only Roma organization in Bulgaria included in the working group.

Amalipe Center will inform about the work of the group through its website.
