16 Days of Activism Continues: Time to Act Against Violence Against Women and Girls

Every year, between November 25 – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and December 10 – International Human Rights Day, the world unites for an important cause: ending violence against women and girls. These are 16 days of activism, in which each of us can become part of the change.
Our change this year is under the motto “Together for smiles and dreams without tears”, because every woman has the right to dream, to be calm, to be loved and respected. Let us continue to build a community in which we do not ignore signals, in which we support, listen and provide help.
As part of the 16-week activism, we present to you a very powerful film on the topic – “Dark Room”
Lina falls into the dark room, blinded by the charm of Angel. When she sees his true nature, it is too late. Lina sinks into darkness and loneliness, and the way out of Angel’s trap seems impossible. The message of the film is very strong, and the team is stellar:

    The film was selected at Sofia Short Fest, No Bounds Short Film Fest, Goa Short Film Festival, Spotlight International Film Festival, AGAINST THE FLOW International Film Festival and Sofia Film Fest, with actress Elena Zamyarkova winning “Best Actress” at AGAINST THE FLOW International Film Festival.

Do you have a close friend, relative, who is your Lina? Organize a discussion in the community or at school for students in junior high or high school about what domestic violence is, how to recognize it, what its manifestations are, how each of us can help. Gather mothers from the parent club or young people. Show them the film and organize a follow-up discussion.
