Let’s help Michaela’s family and the people of Voden
In moments like this, we realize how powerless and weak a person is before nature and its elements. We also understand how we need to unite and help each other, how we need one another. The fire is mighty and consumes everything in its path. The fight against the fires in different parts of the country has been ongoing for nearly a week.
Bolyarovo, in the Yambol region, has been the hottest spot in Bulgaria for five days now, after the fire passed through the village of Voden, leaving its residents without homes. Mihaela Koleva, our educational mediator, comes from Voden. She is a young and determined girl who works diligently with the community in Bolyarovo Municipality and the educational institutions there. She has helped dozens of children receive an education. Today, she needs help. The fire has also passed through her home and that of her parents. After the disaster, only three baking trays remain. Her father, in an effort to save something from the home he has built over the years, is now hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
The people in the village have no shelter, they don’t know where to go or what to do… Devastation and despair.
Mihaela, her child, and everyone like her in the region need compassion and a helping hand. We don’t have time to look for someone to blame. In these precious moments, we need to focus our energy on dealing with the situation.
The Amalipe Center calls on everyone – we know that by nature we all have good hearts. Let’s remove the layers of prejudice, anger, and hatred and bring out our good and big hearts. We ask everyone, in whatever way they can – utensils, electrical appliances, financial means, to join our campaign. Our campaign is also supported by “Traiko Simeonov” Secondary School in Shumen, where donations for those affected can also be delivered.
