17 February – Random Acts of Kindness Day
February 17 is designated Random Acts of Kindness and is celebrated regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion. Because each of us is capable of doing good selflessly and openly.
In order for good deeds to be truly such, they must enjoy their solitude without expecting gratitude from the other party. This is true goodness. In a daily life filled with stress, fatigue and irritation, we remain indifferent to the problems of the people around us. But it is never superfluous to please someone with a kind gesture, attention, which, although unsolicited, can make the day, and why not make this person’s life better, fill him with faith in goodness, and why not motivates him to do an act of kindness?
What exactly is true goodness?
- The one that does not seek retribution. Its purpose is to give without expecting to receive anything in return;
- The one that is not asked for, but not refused;
- The one that is not limited by nationality, ethnicity, property status or religion.
How can you do good?
- Think of someone you haven’t heard from in a long time. Tell him / her that you miss him / her, remember the funny and unforgettable moments;
- Become a benefactor – research what kind of donation campaigns there are, join one and make a stranger but in need of help happy;
- Do someone a favor. Think about who around you needs something and make him happy by helping him.
The message:
Motivate your acquaintances to take part in the celebration of the day. Let’s make sure that the good exists every day, not only on February 17!
